Two Delicious Turkey Burger Recipes To Serve At Your Restaurant

Turkey burgers are a great item to include on your restaurant menu since they appeal to customers who want a healthier choice without having to give up bar-style food entirely. If you can offer a flavorful turkey burger or two, you'll make plenty of repeat customers. Here are two turkey burger recipes to try:

Honey Mustard Turkey Burgers

These burgers are packed with sweet honey mustard flavor. They're delicious when topped with just simple onions, lettuce and tomatoes. Serve them on pretzel buns for added appeal – mustard and pretzels are a classic combination! This recipe makes 12 burgers, which you can shape ahead of time and then cook to order.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pounds ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder

Place the honey in the microwave and microwave it for 10 seconds. It should be liquid, but not hot. Pour it into a large bowl, along with the ground turkey and the other ingredients. Use your hands to gently combine the meat and other ingredients. Do not squeeze or overwork the meat, as this will make it tough.

Divide the meat mixture into 12 portions, and shape each portion into a burger patty that's about ¾ inch thick. Place the patties on a baking sheet, and cover them with plastic wrap. Keep them in the fridge. When a customer orders a burger, grill it on a medium-hot flat top grill for approximately 5 – 6 minutes per side or until the juices run clear.

Rosemary and Garlic Turkey Burgers

Those who prefer a more savory burger will love this recipe, which calls for a classic combination of flavors. Fresh rosemary adds the best flavor, but you can substitute dry rosemary if it's all you have. Top these burgers with some Italian dressing, olives and lettuce. It sounds like an unusual combination, but it's oh-so-good. This recipe, again, makes 12 patties.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pounds ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup fresh rosemary, minced, or 2 tablespoons dried rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Heat the olive oil in a skillet. Add the garlic, and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes. Do not let the garlic brown. Remove the garlic from the heat, and let it cool to room temperature. Place the ground turkey in a bowl, and add the remaining ingredients, including the sautéed garlic. Mix gently to combine. Then, divide the meat into 12 portions and shape each into a burger that's ¾ inch thick.

Place the burgers on a baking sheet, cover them in plastic, and place the sheet in the fridge.  Cook the burgers to order for 5 – 6 minutes per side on a medium-hot flat top.
